SSP's Misty was foaled on March 16, 1979,
to Roxy's Little Sheba, who was sired by
Wilson's Red Dog. Misty was sired by
Shalako's Plaudit, whose sire was Prince Hancock.
She was bred by Gary Cunningham and was
in training with Sue Scobee when
Curt and Priscilla Barnes found her, with the help of
Tom and Glenda Wilson.
Curt fell in love with Misty and purchased her on
August 20, 1983. She was the Barnes' first Appaloosa.

At the time of her retirement at the age of 5, SSP's Misty had accumulated
67 western pleasure points in her short show career.

Misty's, foals have earned 24 World and National Championship titles, and 14 Reserve World and National Championship titles in Open, Non-Pro and Youth divisions.

From her first foal's birth in 1986 to 2003, she never lost a foal.
So, out of 17 breeding seasons, she produced 14 foals!

SSP's Misty, was automatically inducted into the ApHC Hall of Fame in 1996.

Since that time she added three more making the total to 8 Medallion Winners!!

She has had a total of 14 registered foals with over a total of 2,100+ points!

SSP's Misty, has produced more medallion winners than any other Appaloosa mare in history!

Misty Eyed, was the unique crossing of Sun Up Jack (AQHA) by Two Eyed Jack (AQHA) and out of Appaloosa Hall of Fame mare SSPs Misty. Misty Eyed was put into training as a 2 year old with Tom and Glenda Wilson. In 1989, Misty Eyed won her first World Championship in Junior Trial, ridden by Tom Wilson of Galatia, Illinois. They repeated their performance again in 1990 winning at World again in Junior Trail. Misty Eyed, went on to win the
World Championship in Senior Trail four times ridden by
Dave Parlier of Gainesville, Texas.

Misty Eyed, did not only excel in Trail, but also as an all-around Youth and Non-Pro horse. In 1992, Misty Eyed and Tim Barnes led the Nation in 7 classes and captured the Youth 16-18 Versatility title. In 1994, Misty Eyed and Tim led the Nation in 5 Non-Pro classes. Together as a team, Misty Eyed helped Tim to reach his goals winning the Youth Lifetime Superior Award in 1992 and the Non-Pro Lifetime Supreme Award in 1994.Tim Barnes is the only male rider in Appaloosa history to win both of these awards.

During her show career, Misty Eyed won
14 World and National Championships, numerous Reserve World and National Championships, over 50 top tens at the World and National show and accumulated 1354 points in 18 different ApHC approved classes.

Misty Eyed, passed away at the age of 29 in the Fall of 2015.
She is buried in her retirement pasture where she lived for almost 18 years.

Hot Krymsun Angel (2011 and 2012 National Champion Jr Trail).

Zippo Pine Bar and out of ApHC Hall of Fame mare SSPs Misty. In 1991, Lady was put into training with Sandy Campbell Jirkovsky beginning her 2 year old year. Later, Lady would be switched to the hands of Jon Barry of Advance, Missouri.
Jon Barry took Lady to the 1991 World Championship Appaloosa Show, blowing away all the competition. Jon and Lady won the 2 Year Old Western Pleasure class and the 2 Year Old ApPHA Futurity. Lady, was the first horse to win both the 2 Yr Old ApPHA Futurity and Open 2 Yr Old class at the World show and one of only six horses still to this day in ApHC history to accomplish this achievement!

Lady, went on to win the 1992 Nationals in Junior Western Pleasure (pictured above) and then the Mens Western Pleasure at the 1992 World Show. She came back in 1994 to win the National Show in

Zippos Misty Lady, won 5 World and National Championship titles, 5 Reserve World and National Championships and accumulated 90 Western Pleasure points during her showing career.
Lady, was retired to the broodmare band after 1994.

Zippos Misty Lady, has had 6 foals to date. Her 1997 filly, Zippos Famous Lady, was a 2 Year Old Futurity winner and 5th at the 1999 World in 2 Year Old Western Pleasure. Her 1998 foal
Zippos Misty Lad was 4th at the 2000 World Show in 2 Year Old Western Pleasure, shown by Jon Barry. Lady's 1999 foal, One Hot Chip was a 2 Year Old Futurity winner and led the nation in Junior Western Pleasure in 2004. One Hot Chip and David Wagner won the 2006 National Hi Point
Champion Western Horse award. They also won National Championships in Sr and
Non Pro Western Riding and Non-Pro Western Pleasure.
One Hot Chip, has gone on to win many World and National Championships in the hands of
Cindy Mergaert and youth owner Bethany White of Gainesville, FL.
Zippos Misty Lady's 2002 filly A Ladys Invitation is a 2x Reserve World Champion in trail and
owned by the Gentile Family.
